THIS JUST IN!The Eastside Food Festival is pleased to announce that Las Jaras Wines, created by winemakers Joel Burt and comedian Eric Wareheim, known best from his roles in Aziz Ansari’s Master of None and the Tim & Eric Show, will be joining us for the early entry VIP hour of the fest. Las Jaras Wines serve two purposes: having fun and the serious business of perfect food pairing. Co-founder Eric Wareheim will be on hand pouring their newly launched and much sought-after Carignan, a “sultry, cloudy, offbeat and unadulterated” natural wine from Mendocino, CA. This event will only be available to VIP ticket holders from 3-4 PM during the early entry hour.


James Beard Award winning food writer Bill Esparza, author of LA Mexicano, will host a discussion panel with local Mexican chefs exploring the trend of the modern Mexican-inspired California cuisine movement emerging from Los Angeles dubbed “Alta California” cuisine. Panelists will include the likes of Dia de los Puercos’ Chef Rick Garcia, the infamous Cielito Lindo owner Susanna MacManus, Chef Eduardo Ruiz of Corazon y Miel, and writer of Eat Mexico cookbook, Lesley Téllez

Enjoy a live recording from Snacky Tunes, a podcast hosted by Darin and Greg Bresnitz that explores and celebrates the cultural convergence of music and food. This episode’s subjects matter is siblings working together in the food and music industries, and will feature a live musical performance from the sisters of Tangerine, plus an interview with Briana and Andy Valdez, the ladies behind Tex-Mex restaurant HomeState and its Band Taco Program.

The Cannabis Cooking 101 food demonstration will educate the home cook on ways to make a simple cannabis infused meal using quality culinary cannabis infused products. Chef Brandin Lashea is the host of “Pot Pie”, a popular original video series from PRØHBTD, a leader in Cannabis content. In this demonstration, Brandin and former Butchers and Barbers chef and winner of Food Network’s ‘CHOPPED’, Chef Luke Reyes will serve up quick and delicious dishes. Guests will learn techniques that entice the senses and indulge curiosities, and leave informed of benefits to health and wellness that can be gained from culinary cannabis infusions.
