Actor and comedian Eric Andre of Comedy Central’s Eric Andre Show will be making a guest appearance for a live recording of Yelling About Pâté, a podcast from comedy-loving chef Joel Miller (The Wallace) and food-obsessed comedian Karl Hess that features interviews with fellow chefs and comics about critical culinary and comedic issues of the day. Guest chef TBA.

In the wake of the #MeToo Movement and the recent statistic that less than 7% of executive chef roles are held by women, food writer Krista Simmons will speak to some of the leading female food business owners that are changing the game in L.A. We’ll discuss everything from mentorship to hiring policies and maternity leave, and hope to generate practical and inspiring solutions that can be applied, not just to restaurants, but all business owners and entrepreneurs. And of course have some fun along the way!

Hear from chef Teresa Montaño of Otoño in Highland Park, creator of TexMex restaurant HomeState‘s Briana Lynn Valdez,  Filipino style ube sweet specialist Kristine de la Cruz (FrankieLucy Bakeshop, Crème Caramel),  sommelier Coly den Haan (Vinovore), and Director of Operations at Trejos Tacos and hospitality expert Marie Petulla.

Popular Mixologist Brynn Smith, Bar Director at Rossoblu in DTLA, and former Bar Director of Sotto will demonstrate techniques to make simple yet exciting cocktails. She’ll chat with the entertaining expert and host extraordinaire Paul Zahn, sharing industry secrets and her favorite ingredients as she stirs up a variety of recipes. Fun for the novice and expert alike!

Enjoy a discussion panel hosted by Bon Appétit wine editor and author Marissa A. Ross exploring “The New Expression of Wine,” about the new generation of winemakers and consumers taking the experience of wine to the next level, becoming less stuffy and more accessible and fun. Guests will include Alex Bleeker of the band Real Estate, Kismet Restaurant beverage director Kae Whalen and winemaker Joe Uhr (Echo Echo Wine, Kenwood & Duckhorn Vineyards),  plus more TBA.

The Eastside Food Festival is pleased to announce that Las Jaras Wines, created by winemakers Joel Burt and actor Eric Wareheim, known best from his roles in Master of None and the Tim & Eric Show, will be joining us for the early entry VIP hour of the fest. Las Jaras Wines serve two purposes: having fun and the serious business of perfect food pairing. Co-founder Eric Wareheim will be on hand pouring one of their natural wines from Mendocino, CA. This event will only be available to VIP ticket holders from 3-4 PM during the early entry hour.

Enjoy a live recording of the Snacky Tunes podcast that explores and celebrates the cultural convergence of music and food, hosted by Greg and Darin Bresnitz. This episode will feature a live musical performance from emerging artist Neil Frances. Plus, listen to interviews with the band and special guest Jeff Bundschu, president of Bundschu Company wines and curator of Huichica Music Festival; who hand-selected Neil Frances as the musical guest for this live recording, to pair with Bundschu Company’s Echo Echo wines that will be served onsite at the EastSide Food Festival this year.

For guests’ audio enhancement, the best DJ crews in Los Angeles will be spinning in the main vendor village, curated by the Los Angeles event authority, Restless Nites. The lineup includes DJs Dan T and Turbotito from the Los Angeles based party series Heatwave LA, KCRW Radio DJs Travis Holcombe and Mario Cotto, DJ Nina Tarr of Nightswim, and Olive Midori Kimoto & Paige Emery of the Cocteau Twins inspired dance party Heaven or Los Angeles.

For the first time, EastSide Food Festival will include the all-new Echo Echo Music Stage, curated by Echo Echo Wine. The music stage will showcase live performances from an eclectic line up of emerging indie artists from the Los Angeles music scene featuring rock, electronic and more. Echo Echo Wine believes in the raw power of music to enhance any sensory experience. The Echo Echo Music Stage celebrates that spirit, showcasing three dynamic artists selected by the winery to complement the event’s rich food and wine scene.

Experience the powerful interplay of music and wine in the Echo Echo Wine Experience tent. Sixth generation vintner, Jeff Bundschu, will be pouring newly-released Echo Echo wines – a zippy Sauvignon Blanc and a chillable Grenache-based red blend.
